And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Makr 4:39
What this means:
Jesus and the disciples were in the middle of a violent storm. Storms are a reality of life even when Jesus is in the boat with you.
While the disciples panicked, Jesus remained at peace. Fear often causes us to focus on the storm more than the Savior.
Jesus spoke directly to the storm with authority: “Peace! Be still!” The storm responded immediately to His command. Jesus demonstrates His authority not only over nature, but over chaos, fear, and uncertainty.
Reflection:
Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of Christ in the middle of it.
What storm or uncertainty am I facing right now?
Am I responding with fear or faith?
How can I intentionally invite God’s peace into my situation today?
Our Prayer:
Gracious Father, thank you for being our peace in every storm. When fear and uncertainty rise, remind us that you command the winds and the rain. God you said in your word in Matthew 16:19 that “whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Adonai, we Bind fear and Anxiety hear on Earth and we lose peace over our mind, our hearts, and our circumstances.
We Trust you in the storm and we praise you in advnace for victory over the storm.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
