Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The Instruction: Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

The Admonishment: Lean not to your own understanding.

The Promise: God will Direct your path.

Trusting God requires surrendering control, especially when situations don’t make sense.

“Leaning” on our own understanding affirms dependence on a limited human perspective.

Submission is active it invites God into our decisions, plans, and daily actions.

God’s direction doesn’t feel like the easiest path, but it will always be the right path that aligns with His will.

Reflection:

Where am I relying on my own understanding instead of trusting God? Jeremiah 29:11-God’s plans for hope and a future

Are there areas of my life I haven’t fully submitted to Him? Isaiah 55:8-9 – God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours

What would it look like to trust God completely in this season? Psalm 37:5 – Commit your way to the Lord

Our Prayer: Gracious Father, we thank you for the opportunity to know you more. Thank you for the ability to rely on you and your direction. Thank you for your guidance and your grace when we don’t understand it and don’t want it. Help me to trust You with all my heart. When I’m tempted to rely on my own understanding, remind me that Your ways are higher than mine. Teach me to submit every area of my life to You and guide my steps according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
